We’re proud to share with you two new television spots for a client close to our hearts: Mohawk Valley Heart Institute. MVHI is a successful model of a concept we love—collaboration—between area hospitals to offer some of the best cardiac services in Central New York and beyond. We shot and edited both spots in HD, something we’ve been doing on all our broadcast work.

The phenomenal results belie the challenging shoot: near record heat for the time of year (well into the 90s all day for our offsite work), a large cast, and a tight shooting schedule over two days. Spots were filmed at a local home and at the Institute’s facilities, where we were constantly on alert for emergencies, any of which would require us to vacate our “set” quickly for patients. The professionalism, organization and generosity of MVHI’s staff, which serve them so well in their work, made our jobs much easier.

It’s always rewarding when planning, preparation, hard work and great people come together to create great work. Enjoy.

As we were preparing to film our latest video blog, an earthquake hit just outside of Ottawa, Ontario, and shook us up a bit here in Upstate New York. Since we get an earthquake about once every 10 or 15 years around here, it was a rare event, and quickly won out for video blog topic of the moment. Although we weren’t filming when the “big one” hit, we thought it would be entertaining to recreate. Enjoy our disaster (of a) film.

One of our pro bono accounts is a kindred spirit of the arts: the Kirkland Art Center, or KAC. Like us, they support art and music, in addition to many forms of creative expression, including sculpture, jewelery-making, dance, yoga, and various fine arts. Did you know they offered all that?

It’s a jewel in our midst, and we wanted to help them shine as they look forward to their 50th Anniversary in 2011. Yes, they’ve been sharing the arts with people in our region for 50 years. In classes, concerts, shows and more, all for the love and creation of art in all its forms. A kick-off event is slated for January of 2011.

We created a 50th Anniversary logo for them, and will continue to help them raise awareness of their programs and offerings in other ways. The logo says a lot about them: they’re celebrating the arts and a special milestone; they are a festive place, and are bursting with wonderful ideas, activities and innovation. Part of this celebration is about the past 50 years of serving arts lovers; the other is a kick-off of the next 50. New people, new ideas, new art forms, and new artists will carry the KAC forward. A few weeks ago we talked about the impact the Ride for Missing Children always has on us and our community. This year’s Ride is complete, though its effects will last year round. As the Riders sailed past our headquarters that morning, we filmed their passage. We talk about clients embracing their brands, and living by their tenets. The Ride is one client we’ve helped brand where the members need no reminder to live it every day. It should inspire us all to express (and live by) our own values as fully.
