From its modest beginnings in 1996, the New York International Wine Auction (NYIWA) has become one of the most respected and well-attended wine and culinary events in the Northeast, and is regionally recognized as a major charitable wine auction. The event attracts wine enthusiasts and supporters from all over the United States.
The Auction benefits the Herkimer ARC, a not-for-profit client located in Herkimer, NY that serves and advocates for individuals with developmental and other disabilities. In order to help the event, we began by creating a brand and building materials around it.
By focusing on the cause and recognizing those who contributed, we’ve built a generous and loyal following in wine regions all over the United States, and among those offering fine lifestyle items the world over. Moving beyond traditional sponsor messages in programs, we began to tell stories, about the wineries and their owners, about the wines, and about the people affected by the event.
Our efforts, combined with the tireless work of the event’s organizers and the many generous donors and participants, have made the Auction into a record-breaking event. Gross proceeds from the annual one-night event now exceed $250,000, funds that benefit more than 700 families daily in the form of medical, residential, counseling, vocational, clinical, therapeutic, family, and transportation services.
What better way to build a community than to enable its individuals to fulfill their potential?
